    Your payment options are to:

    • pay through online banking (add Grande Prairie Regional College as your payee and use your Student ID# for the account number)
    • send a cheque or money order (payable to GPRC Residence)
    • pay us directly at the Residence Office with cash, debit, money order, or cheque
    • GPRC does not accept e-transfers
    • GPRC does not accept credit cards directly for payment of rent or tuition. Plastiq is an independent third party service provider that you can use to pay your tuition and fees. Plastiq charges a platform fee to your credit card. Ensure that you understand Plastiq's Terms of Service before using their services. Attention: Disputes regarding Plastiq's services must be resolved between Plastiq and the student. GPRC does not guarantee Plastiq's services. Using Plastiq may result in delays in GPRC receiving payment. Students remain responsible for any payments which Plastiq fails to make on their behalf.

  • Academic year - Important Notes to Remember

    Rent of $1980 is due in full:

    • First Semester - August 1st

    • Second Semester - December 1st 

    If you are receiving a student loan or any type of funding you MUST advise the Residence Office. It is then your obligation to pay ¼ the semester’s rent ($495) and provide our office with documentation of your funding approval.  Both your payment and the required documents must be received by our office prior to the August rent deadline.  Rent must be paid on a monthly basis until your funding comes in; once your funds are received, you are responsible to pay the balance of your semester rent. Any students not paying the full semesters rent by the deadline will be assessed a late payment fee. Below is a section containing information for students that are being funded and/or sponsored. Examples of loan documents we are looking for all also provided in the funding section below.

    *** What to Bring when you move into Residence.....

    • Your own dishes, pots, pans, utensils, toaster, coffee maker, etc. (Basically any items you will need for cooking/eating/preparing food).
    • Your own bedding for an extra long twin bed or deep pocket sheets will work as well (sheets, blankets, pillows), towels.
    • Your own food.
    • Vacuums and microwaves are not provided; someone in the unit will need to bring one. 
    • Computers and a television if you want for your bedroom.
    • Shower curtains are supplied, but you should supply your own bath mat. These shower curtains are not disposable. DO NOT throw them out. If you would like it laundered prior to the semesters end, please bring it to the Residence Office and exchange it for a clean one.
    • Cleaning supplies.
    • Dish soap, hand soap, laundry soap / fabric softener.

      • Parking, Directions to, and map of GPRC Residence

        All Residence permits will be available for sale online mid July.

        • Residence lots are powered
        • Residence lots are G,J, & L, however, parking permits are sold as Residence Permits. First come, first parked!!
        • NO VISITOR PARKING. Have your guests park on the streets please.
        • Parking permits are to be picked up near the end of August through till the first week of September. Lots are relaxed parking for the first week of September only! Security will begin ticketing vehicles that do not display a permit after this first week has past. All parking permits must be picked up from Campus Operations. 
        • If you leave Residence during the academic term and are wanting a refund for your permit, it must be returned to Campus Operations!! Refunds will NOT be issued if dropped off to Residence!!
        • Refunds will not be issued if permits are returned in April.
      • Communication with students

        The GPRC Residence Office usually communicates with our students through Facebook, by telephone or email.

        It is imperative all students have an active email address for us to communicate with them. Most of our communication is done through email. If you have changed your email address, please notify the Residence Office as soon as possible. 

        Once you have moved on from Residence, you MUST ensure your myGPRC account has the correct permanent address.  This is the information Finance will use for any refunds owing to you. To check this, please login to your myGPRC account, go to "my Profile" then "Addresses".  Here you will confirm your address or edit it if necessary.

          • Funding Information for Students

            If you are applying for a student loan, applications are usually accepted at the beginning of June.  Please consult your provincial student Financial Aid Website for specific details.

            All Residence students that are receiving a student loan, or funding of any kind, are expected to pay a minimum of $495 by the rent deadline. Along with this payment, a copy of your loan approval MUST be provided to us. Please select Alberta or BC student loan below to see an example of the document that is required in our office by the rent deadline.

            Please see the below attachments to see how to set up your phone to your student email as well as instructions for ordering pay per view events and programming your TELUS remotes with your TV.

          • Aboriginal Services

            Temporary Indigenous Liaison Coordinator – Kelly Benning:

            Kelly can provide you with one on one support on your journey of further education.  Kelly is located in Student Services and is available for drop in or by appointment.

            Elder in Residence – Loretta English:

            Loretta lives here in Residence in Unit M104; feel free to contact her for a visit.

            On Campus Friendship Center:

            Located in B205; main campus of the college.  It’s a great place to hangout, make friends and get in touch with the Urban Aboriginal Community.  The center is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

            • Summer Information

              The Grande Prairie Regional College Residence opens it's doors to students, workers, and the general public wishing to stay in our community.  Our summer residence term is offered from May 1 - mid August.  All of our units are 4-person townhomes so anybody interested in staying with us must expect to live with other people.

              If you are currently living in Residence and wish to stay from May - August, you MUST apply.

              We also offer short term stays that are payable at a daily rate of $40-45/night plus GST & hotel tax. Individual rooms or full units may be booked. For further details please contact the Residence Office.
