GPRC Online Distance Education Courses



A device must meet or exceed the following specifications to participate in online courses at GPRC:

Other 1024x600 Screen Resolution, Sound output, High-Speed Internet 



GPRC uses the Moodle online course management system.

GPRC uses Blackboard Collaborate and BigBlueButton web-based audioconference systems.
Collaborate and BigBlueButton are real-time virtual meeting environments that support:

• Real-time audio discussion, with breakout rooms for small group discussion 
• Text messaging 
• Surveys and basic assessments 
• Application and Desktop sharing 
• A shared whiteboard with markup tools 
• Recording of sessions for convenient playback

To take part in a conference, you will need a headset or speakers and a microphone. The first time 
that you connect, you will be prompted to run through some set-up routines that will run automatically from 
the server.  Java is required, to download visit

To participate in Collaborate or BigBlueButton meetings, click on the meeting links that your 
instructor has set up within your Moodle course space.

NOTE: Mobile devices such as Chromebooks, iPads, iPhones, Android devices, Windows Phones and Windows RT devices will provide only limited access to online course materials. Collaborate and BigBlueButton DO NOT run on mobile devices at this time.  Some courses contain elements that require Java and/or Flash, which may not display properly on many mobile devices.
